Our Story
Quantemol, a spin-out from University College London (UCL)’s Physics and Astronomy department, was founded in 2004 by Prof. Jonathan Tennyson FRS and Dr. Daniel Brown. Both founders remain actively involved, with Jonathan serving as Chief Scientist and Daniel as Company Chair.
The company’s initial mission was to simplify complex calculations, specifically focusing on electron scattering cross sections using the advanced UKRmol codes. This led to the development of our foundational software, Quantemol-N. This ground breaking product revolutionised the field by drastically reducing the time it took to perform these calculations from years of a PhD student’s work down to mere minutes, making high-quality calculations accessible to everyone.
Expanding Our Software Products
Quantemol’s journey has been one of significant growth and innovation. From Quantemol-N, we have expanded our portfolio to three distinct software platforms:
- Quantemol-DB
- Quantemol-EC
- Quantemol-VT
This expansion demonstrates our commitment to continually addressing new challenges and providing necessary solutions to the scientific community. Alongside our growing software portfolio, we’ve also established a successful consultancy service, Quantemol- CS, further leveraging our expertise.
Global Reach and Growing Team
Our success is a testament to our brilliant team of scientists, whose contributions have been instrumental in building our legacy and capabilities. We’ve not only grown our product line but also expanded our reach internationally, generating valuable partnerships and connecting with researchers across the globe. At Quantemol, we highly value diversity and the passionate, unique individuals who contribute to our dynamic team.
